Leicester City's first team defeated Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium on a weekend which also included a draw for the Club's Development Squad, a big win for the Under-18s and a maiden appearance in the Continental Cup for the Women's team.

On Friday, City's Under-23s tackled Liverpool in Premier League 2 Division 1, while a day later, the Under-18s travelled to south Wales to come up against Swansea City in the U18 Premier League South.

While Brendan Rodgers' men also hosted Spurs on Filbert Way on Saturday, Jonathan Morgan’s Leicester City Women were the visitors to Manchester City's Academy Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Galvanised by an electric King Power Stadium atmosphere, Leicester City's first team climbed to third in the Premier League with a brilliant 2-1 comeback victory over Spurs on Saturday.

After seeing Wilfred Ndidi's early effort was ruled out by VAR, the Foxes went behind in the 29th minute as Harry Kane burst into the 18-yard box before executing a classy finish.

Rodgers' hosts seemed to have conceded another midway through the second half when Serge Aurier sent a drive past Kasper Schmeichel, but Son Heung-min strayed narrowly offside.

Boosted by a decisive VAR call in their favour, Leicester burst into the life with Ricardo Pereira bundling home a close-range effort before James Maddison fired in a magnificent 85th-minute winner.

City's Development Squad also came back from a one-goal deficit at Holmes Park on Friday evening, but were curtailed in the 95th minute by a determined Liverpool side in Premier League 2.

Curtis Jones' low strike handed the Reds an early advantage in Whetstone before Admiral Muskwe's dogmatic effort and a curler from George Thomas turned the clash on its head.

Despite having withstood early pressure from their visitors, Leicester's youngsters went into the interval ahead and, over the course of the second period, began to dominate the encounter.

However, just as it seemed the Foxes would sealed their second win of the 2019/20 campaign, up stepped Luis Longstaff to poke home a close-range effort in the last minute of added time.

The Club's Under-18s made it two wins on the bounce on Saturday with a wonderful 5-1 success over Swansea City at Beaufort Road in U18 Premier League South.

Just 17 minutes in, the young Foxes were behind as Swans midfielder Bradley Gibbings latched onto Adnan Moti's pass to convert past American goalkeeper Chituru Odunze.

The visitors rallied, however, and were soon ahead following a fine effort from Terell Pennant and a Dempsey Arlott-John brace, one of which came from the penalty spot.

Arlott-John turned provider, meanwhile, laying it on for Ethan Fitzhugh on 64 minutes before also setting up Pennant for his second, sealing a brilliant 5-1 victory for the Under-18s.

A daunting trip to holders Manchester City ended in a 5-0 defeat for Leicester City Women in the group stage of the Continental Cup on Sunday.

Lachante Paul, who combined with Libby Smith to work an opening, was unlucky not to give the visiting Foxes the lead early on, but Man City goalkeeper Karima Benameur saved well.

After 30 minutes, the home side did go ahead, though, as Caroline Weir found the net with a close-range effort, before Pauline Bremer, Weir again and then Tessa Wullaert struck after the break.

Following defeat in their Group C opener, the Foxes are bottom, while Birmingham City are bottom to Man City following their success over Everton and Man United are yet to play.
