Demarai Gray believes Leicester City had to show their different qualities as they roared to their fifth-straight victory in all competitions.

- Leicester City did well to grind Arsenal down on Saturday, according to winger Demarai Gray
- The Foxes defeated the Gunners 2-0 at King Power Stadium to move up to second in the Premier League
- Jamie Vardy and James Maddison both found the back of the net in the second half

Second-half goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison secured a 2-0 win against Arsenal at King Power Stadium on Saturday, as the Foxes climbed to second in the league table.

Gray, who was introduced on the hour mark before City struck twice in eight minutes, was pleased with Leicester's display at both ends of the pitch.

“It was a nice win today,” Gray told LCFC TV. “It was a different kind of game. We had to be patient as they sat off us but we knew as long as we kept playing, we’d get the opportunities and Vards (Jamie Vardy) got us going.

“We know every game in this league is going to be difficult and the opposition are going to set up differently every week. I think because we are doing so well, and teams know what we’re about.

“We’re not a nice team to play against, we attack properly and defend properly. No matter the circumstances in the game, the manager works with us on the pitch to handle all scenarios.

“We take the information and put it into place on the pitch and everyone has been, but I think we ground them down and got the two goals.”

City had to be patient after a goalless first half on Filbert Way, before they went on to break Unai Emery’s men down with a series of slick attacking moves.

“I said on the bench at the start of the game to JJ (James Justin) ‘if you look at them, they’re quite deep’,” Gray continued. “It’s kind of a compliment as we’ve got a team like Arsenal playing backwards.

The spirit is good and we have good characters in the squad. The togetherness is good so it’s important to have a good changing room.

“We’re a possession team, we keep the ball and keep it moving and, as I say, we had to grind them down and we did that in the end.

“I think some of the goals we have scored this season have been top and, like I said, we are playing proper football and the link-up play has been good up top.

“It’s all off the training ground really and the chemistry in the squad as you can see is very good - but that first goal was proper.”

“The spirit is good and we have good characters in the squad. The togetherness is good so it’s important to have a good changing room.

“Everyone’s a leader, everyone takes responsibility and, on the pitch, when we approach games properly we can beat any team.”
