England Under-21s international winger Demarai Gray signed in January 2016 from Birmingham City on a contract to June 2020.
Demarai joined the Foxes for an undisclosed fee having built a reputation as one of the brightest talents in the English game and later became a Premier League champion in his debut season with the Club.
Having made his Birmingham debut aged just 17, Gray has made 78 professional appearances, including 51 starts in the Football League – before adding another 12 across the final five months of the 2015/16 season.
His pace, work-rate and creativity have made him one of the most sought-after young players in the country. Leicester City supporters were already well aware of Gray’s qualities – the Birmingham-born youngster having provided a preview of his attacking prowess with a stunning goal in the Foxes’ 3-2 pre-season win over the Blues back in August 2015.
Gray has been capped across four youth levels for England – Under-18s, Under-19s, Under-20s and Under-21s – and in September 2015, he operated on the left wing alongside young City defender Ben Chilwell for the Under-20s against the Czech Republic.
At Birmingham since the age of 10, Gray rose through the ranks at the Blues before making his professional debut for the club as a late substitute against Millwall in October 2013.
He went on to score his first goal for the Championship outfit against Blackburn Rovers in April 2014.
Gray’s stock continued to rise during the 2014/15 campaign, as his pace, technique and eye for goal strengthened his reputation as a future star.
He played 43 times, netting six goals including a hat-trick against Reading in December 2014, and was named Birmingham’s Young Player of the Season.
Gray made his UEFA Champions League debut against Club Brugge in September 2016, before netting his first goal for the Club against Manchester United at Old Trafford 10 days later.
