The Seagulls have won three on the bounce at home over previous weeks, sealing victories over Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Norwich City, leaving them in 11th place in the Premier League.
Ahead of the visit of Brendan Rodgers' second-placed Foxes this weekend, Naylor spoke to LCFC.com about the impact made in Falmer by new manager Graham Potter and the importance of home form.
Starting with an assessment of Brighton's opening 12 matches in 2019/20, he explained how Potter's new system is developing after the 44-year-old replaced Chris Hughton in the summer.
"It has been a decent start," he said. "They got off to a flier at Watford on the opening day, winning 3-0, which perhaps inflated expectations a bit too high in Graham Porter's first match in charge.
"They had a period then where they didn't win, but they've won three in a row at home, which has really helped them, starting with Spurs, which was a standout result.
"They’ve followed that up against Everton and Norwich and I think those wins are particularly important because Leicester launches a very challenging Christmas period for them.
"Up until 1 January. They’ve got nine games in 40 days, and within that period, they play against five of the top six and seven of the top nine.
"The dynamic is quite interesting because character-wise, there are similarities to Chris Hughton. Both of them are very calm, level and get never get carried away by results.
"But in terms of playing style, there’s been a considerable transformation. Hughton tended to be fairly rigid, in terms of tactics, in terms of selection, in terms of positions players played in.
"Graham is completely different in those respects. We're seeing a lot of tactical changes, not just game-to-game, but during games and players playing in positions that they haven't played in before.
"It’s very much a possession-based philosophy, playing out from the back, and pressing high when they can, so it’s been a real change in terms of playing style."
Leicester, on the other hand, have won five in a row in all competitions and approach the fixture with a nine-point cushion within the Premier League's top four after just 12 matches.
Naylor believes Potter will respect City greatly, while also emphasising to his players the importance of playing without fear and going toe-to-toe with every side they face this season in the top flight.
"Potter will greatly respect Leicester, but in terms of the environment at the club, and in terms of the players, he will stress the importance of not being fearful of anyone, to play without fear," he added.
"Brighton have had good results against top sides at home. They’ve beaten Manchester United twice at AMEX Stadium, they’ve beaten Arsenal and recently Spurs as well.
"That home advantage makes a big difference in terms of their prospects of getting a result against Leicester as their record away isn't as good.
"They'll certainly respect them and why wouldn't you? This is a personal view, but I think Leicester are a really good side with a really good manager.
"In many ways, if you look right through the team, they’ve got quality everywhere, it's not just about Jamie Vardy, although we know he is a transparent threat.
"So, I think, it is a big challenge for Brighton and it'll be interesting to see because they they've run into a period of injuries and suspensions."
