The Saints are due to arrive in Leicester on Saturday for a 3pm kick-off and Pérez, who netted a hat-trick at St. Mary's Stadium in October, has spoken exclusively to CITY Matchday Magazine.

With 84 pages of content, including notes from manager Brendan Rodgers and Chairman Khun Top, as well as much more, Pérez is the feature interview in Issue 14, available on Saturday.

"There is great support here," the Spanish forward says in Saturday's edition. "I’ve realised that in the home games especially, but even in away games it’s special.

"The fans travel in numbers, always supporting us. We feel that the fans are with us. It’s a really good feeling. I have to admit, I was surprised.

The way the fans push us; every visiting team needs to feel that it’s going to be a long 90 minutes for them playing here. That unity will make it tough for our rivals.

"We all know what the support is like at Newcastle with the size of the city and the expectation from the fans.

"When I signed, I wondered what it was going to be like here. It’s been great, it really has.

"That support is so important if we want to keep getting points and enjoying special moments; like getting to the final of the Carabao Cup or maintaining the league position we’re in.

"The way the fans push us; every visiting team needs to feel that it’s going to be a long 90 minutes for them playing here. That unity will make it tough for our rivals."

The Blue Army can pick up a copy of CITY Matchday Magazine on Saturday for £3 from the Foxes Fanstore or programme vendors outside King Power Stadium.
