Following the announcement of Danny Ward signing a new contract, LCFC.com looks back at some of the Welshman's best moments in a Leicester City shirt.

The goalkeeper agreed a new deal which will keep him at the Club until 2025 this week, extending a three-season spell with the Foxes that has included shootout success, European football and featuring on the international stage.

Arriving at King Power Stadium in the summer of 2018, Ward kept a clean sheet on his debut, a 4-0 victory over Fleetwood Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup on 28 August.

The shot-stopper would play a starring role in the next round, against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. A 0-0 stalemate in normal time took the game straight to a shootout where Ward saved spot-kicks from Romain Saïss, Diogo Jota and Adama Traoré, as City won 3-1 on penalties.

Ward chalked up yet another shutout in round four, drawing 0-0 with Southampton at King Power Stadium, making an injury-time stop to deny Manolo Gabbiadini before saving the Italian forward's decisive spot-kick to set up a quarter-final with Manchester City.

Again the match went to penalties after a 1-1 draw and although Ward did enough to put off Raheem Sterling from 12 yards, it was the Citizens who won the shootout and progressed into the last four.

In 2019/20, meanwhile, Ward's three clean sheets from four cup appearances included back-to-back FA Cup shutouts in victories over Wigan Athletic (2-0) and Brentford (0-1), as well as in a 4-0 triumph against Luton Town in the Carabao Cup.

He has featured as many times for his country (5) as for the Foxes this term and the tight-knit group of goalkeepers that has formed at the Club means his experience has been vital for the young shot-stoppers hoping to become Leicester's future No.1.

The former Reds shot-stopper featured for the Club in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Eldin Jakupović, Ward continues to play an important role in helping to nurture the Club's talent, passing on his knowledge and tips during training sessions.

The former Liverpool 'keeper has often competed in cup competitions for the Foxes, not least in this season's run to the Emirates FA Cup Semi-Finals.

Playing in the 3-1 success at Brentford in round four, Ward also donned the gloves against Brighton & Hove Albion, recording a shutout against City's Premier League opponents.

Ward, 27, has also played twice in the UEFA Europa League group stage in 2020/21, firstly away at Zorya Luhansk before keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 home success over AEK Athens, a result which secured Leicester's place at the top of Group G.
