Çağlar Söyüncü was in action for Turkey on Wednesday as the Crescent-Stars sealed a 2-1 friendly win over Scotland at Diyarbakir Stadyumu.

After hitting the bar earlier on, 1899 Hoffenheim defender Ozan Kabak did indeed give the Crescent-Stars a lead before the half-time interval with another header.

Four minutes into the second half, on the other hand, as Scotland pushed for a leveller in Diyarbakır, former Foxes loanee Cengiz Ünder broke down the right and slotted a neat finish past Craig Gordon. 

John McGinn's excellent solo goal threatened to get Scotland back into the clash, but Söyüncü and his defensive colleagues did just enough to hold on for a 2-1 victory. It was a match which saw Söyüncü reach the 50 caps mark for his country.

Foxes youngster Reece Evans in action for Northern Ireland's Under-18s this week.

Turkey, not at this winter's FIFA World Cup in Qatar, next face Czech Republic in another international friendly fixture at Gaziantep Stadium on Saturday (5pm kick-off).

Academy star Reece Evans, meanwhile, also starred for Northern Ireland Under-18s on Tuesday, although Austria emerged triumphant at Stangmore Park Dungannon, with Stefan Kordic and Zeteny Jano on the scoresheet.

The two sides will meet again in an other friendly fixture on Thursday evening (6pm kick-off).

There could be further international action on Thursday with Daniel Amartey (Ghana), Patson Daka (Zambia) and Wilfred Ndidi (Nigeria) all in line for outings.
