Leicester City Football Club confirmed the signing of Daniel Amartey from FC Copenhagen on a contract until 2020 in January 2016.
A powerful presence both in midfield and defence, Daniel impressed in Danish football since arriving in the capital in July 2014.
He played a key role as Copenhagen finished second in the Superliga to qualify for the UEFA Europa League during his first season with the club.
Copenhagen recruited Amartey from Swedish outfit Djurgårdens IF, who he joined at the age of 18.
He made his senior debut for Ghana against Senegal a year ago and has featured a number of times for the Black Stars.
Amartey made five appearances for City during the 2015/16 campaign after making his debut in the 1-0 victory over Norwich City in February 2016.
He featured much more heavily the following term, playing 35 times in all competitions for City, while also representing Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Further international involvement came for Amartey in 2017/18, as he represented Ghana in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
On the domestic front, he made 15 appearances for City before picking up a hamstring problem against Bournemouth in early March, keeping him out for the remaining three months of the season.
In the 2018/19 campaign, meanwhile, Amartey became a regular presence in Claude Puel's starting line-up during the early weeks of the season.
