On Wednesday night, Leicester were eliminated from the Continental Tyres League Cup following a late 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. The Foxes arrived at Pirelli Stadium with only three substitutes - ‘keeper Demi Lambourne and youngsters Mackenzie Smith and Jess Reavill.

Showing that City's squad was running thin on the ground, the manager was keen to confirm that it will be more filled out for this weekend's Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against the Lilywhites.

“[There are] no concerns so far,” Kirk told the media in Friday afternoon's press conference. “Obviously you saw how light on the ground we were against Man City on Wednesday night, but we’re hoping to be in a stronger position on Sunday.

Willie Kirk speaks to his team following defeat to Manchester City at Pirelli Stadium.

“We’re looking to have another four players available to us, and we’re looking to boost the numbers, but there’s nothing new to report on in terms of players being out.”

Forwards Jess Sigsworth and Lachante Paul remain sidelined, alongside Josie Green and the recent addition of Remy Siemsen, who is aiming to get to full fitness.

One player who recently returned from injury is Hannah Cain, with the Wales international starting the last three games for the Foxes since coming back from an ACL injury late last year.
