A comfortable 3-1 victory for the Club’s Development Squad over West Ham United completed a weekend of varying results for Leicester City.

It was the Under-18s that were first in action on Saturday afternoon, as they headed to Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Elite Performance Centre in the U18 Premier League.

Their unbeaten start to the 2017/18 campaign looked under threat when Ryan Longman opened the scoring with just six minutes on the clock.

Tyrese Shade celebrates with his Under-18s team-mates.

But having won all three of their opening fixtures, Trevor Peake’s side were determined to draw level and did exactly that late on, as Connor Tee fired home.

Tee’s third goal of the season earned the young Foxes a valuable 1-1 draw in Brighton ahead of next weekend’s home clash with Tottenham.

The Club’s first team followed later that afternoon with a promising display against Chelsea at King Power Stadium.

After a two-week pause for the first international break of the season, the Foxes continued their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 defeat to the reigning champions.

Alvaro Morata and former Fox N’Golo Kanté put Antonio Conte’s men two goals up, before Jamie Vardy won and converted a penalty to halve the deficit.

But for all their efforts, Craig Shakespeare’s outfit couldn’t find an equaliser despite another solid performance in England’s top tier.

Finally, on Monday, an experienced Under-23s outfit defeated West Ham 3-1 at King Power Stadium to extend their unbeaten run in Premier League 2 to three games.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Vicente Iborra, Robert Huth, Eldin Jakupović and Yohan Benalouane all featured for Steve Beaglehole’s side, who took the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Nigeria international Iheanacho opened the scoring, while Iborra and George Thomas were on target in the second period.

Antonio Martinez pulled one back for the Hammers late on, but City saw the game out comfortably to make it two wins from their last three league outings.
