The Foxes could not breach Fleetwood’s defence at the first time of asking on Saturday 6 January, as the encounter finished goalless at Highbury Stadium.
Now, Benalouane, who played 90 minutes during the stalemate, wants his side to approach Tuesday’s replay in a different manner in order to set up a Fourth Round tie with Peterborough United.
“The first game was very tough, very difficult,” said Benalouane. “Fleetwood played well – they were strong – and the pitch was very difficult. Sometimes, you have to say congratulations.
“Now, we have to do something more and different in the next game. For me, the first thing is to keep the ball and try to make something different to win.
“This competition is very important. I know for people in England, it’s a good competition, and as well for the Club. Now, we have to be fair and we have to get a good win against Fleetwood.”
The centre back says the first clash with Uwe Rosler’s men gave City a good opportunity to gain an understanding of their opponent’s strengths.
“I think we have to learn in every game and in this game, we learned something,” continued Benalouane. “We learned to fight against another team and I think we fought well because it was a big fight.
“Now, we know we have to do something different because at King Power Stadium, it will be different for both teams.
“To play another game is good as well for the players that don’t play in this moment. It’s always a pleasure to play at King Power Stadium, so I think a lot of players are happy this time. It’s a moment to show something and to be fit.”
