- Leicester City have enjoyed a positive week of pre-season training, says Vicente Iborra
- The Foxes have spent five days at Belvoir Drive prior to their visit to Évian-les-Bains on Sunday
- The Spanish midfielder hopes team-mates Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire can progress at the World Cup
The Spaniard has been part of a Foxes contingent that has enjoyed five days of testing and training at Belvoir Drive this week.
Now, Iborra, after a relaxing summer break, says he ready for one of the most important stages of the season.
“The summer was good, with time to rest, relax and of course to enjoy with family and friends in my town and my country of course,” said Iborra in an exclusive interview with LCFC TV.
“My feelings are very good. I think all my team-mates came with a good [level of] fitness – me too. I’m very happy because I came back better than the last pre-season and now we are working hard to prepare the next season with good conditions.
“I think this stage is very important for us. Of course, to work hard and to prepare our fitness, but for me, the most important thing is we have to build our team spirit and to build a big group.
“For me, both parts – fitness and the group – is very important. We’ll prepare for a hard and exciting season.”
While Iborra’s home nation Spain exited the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the Round of 16 stage, that has not stopped him from keeping tabs on the progress of team-mates Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire, who on Saturday contest a quarter-final tie with Sweden.
“I got to see some games,” said Iborra of the ongoing tournament. “Of course, the Spanish games, but now, I have to support my team-mates, Harry and Vards.
“I hope they have very good luck and I wish them all the best.”
