Choudhury, 21, has risen through the ranks at Leicester City Academy to feature in the first team last term and is looking forward to making a good impression during pre-season.

He’s been training with the rest of the squad in Évian-les-Bains for the last three days and says the team have been building up their fitness.

“Last week and the first two days here were really tough physically,” he told LCFC TV.

Hamza Choudhury was one of a number of Academy graduates to join the first team in Évian this summer.

“It’s nice to come out and concentrate on football and get back to being on the ball and getting used to match situations.

“Tomorrow (Thursday), I think we’ve got a bike race up a hill. I think it’s going to be painful, to be honest, but you’ve got to do it, it’s pre-season.”

After making his senior City debut in September 2017, Choudhury has made several appearances for the first team, and is hoping to make an impact this season.

I’ll just keep working hard and keep my head down and do the things the manager wants me to do on and off the pitch.

“I think the end of last season helped me just sort of fit in,” he said. “This year obviously I’ve just hopefully kicked on and been part of the lads, part of the group.
