Into their fourth week of pre-season, the Foxes flew to Austria on Monday before training in the state of Carinthia the following morning.

Fuchs, 32, believes this month’s hard work has provided a foundation for the Foxes to build on during their week in his homeland.

Speaking to LCFC TV, the former Austria international said: “It was pretty tough, I’m all sweaty! The weather is pretty warm as well – the same as in France and the same as in England.

"We’re getting used to the conditions for the beginning of the season. It was a really good session with good work and good intensity. All the lads are doing really well.

“We’re getting closer to the beginning of the season so it’s more about explosion and more about speed and more about tactics.

“I think we have a good base now that we’ve worked on but it’s about other work, different work. We’re footballers and we like to have as much contact with the ball as we can. That’s the case right now.”

For City, the aim is to build on Saturday’s 1-4 win at Notts County as they prepare to face Turkish side Akhisarspor and Italian outfit Udinese this week.

Reflecting on the weekend’s outing, Fuchs said: “I think the manner that we approached the game with [was pleasing], being very focused and being professional, they’re a League 2 team but that can play football.

“They are still a physical side which we saw. They went 1-0 up but then I think overall, we were pretty clinical. We had a lot of chances and scored four goals. That stands for the work that we did so far and it feels good to start pre-season like that.”

Both of this week’s fixtures will be shown live on LCFC TV for FREE in the United Kingdom and Thailand!
