- Claude Puel is looking forward to a return to former club Lille with Leicester City on Saturday (5.15pm BST kick-off)
- The Foxes conclude their pre-season campaign against the Ligue 1 side

City’s fifth and final fixture of pre-season sees them head to Stade Pierre-Mauroy to take on a Lille side that last campaign retained their Ligue 1 status by winning three of their last four games.

The Foxes have already faced top flight outfits from Turkey, Italy and Spain and with French opposition next up, Puel says it will be his side's final chance to showcase their talents before the Premier League campaign kicks-off six days later.

“I think it’s the last game we can give more game time for some players,” Puel told LCFC TV. “We can try to make progress about their fitness levels.

It was a good feeling, a good moment for me and my family [at Lille]. Of course, it will be a fantastic feeling to come back and to see friends.

“We will see after which players can start against [Manchester] United. I said for the moment, in the difficulty, I am happy about our training sessions. Now, it’s important to continue this work.”

Puel returns to Lille as City manager having spent six terms at the Club, most notably guiding to their highest-ever Ligue 1 finish – second place – in 2005.

“It is my former club and I was the manager during six seasons,” he added. “I tried to develop the squad and to put in a good structure.

“It was a good feeling, a good moment for me and my family. Of course, it will be a fantastic feeling to come back and to see friends.”
