The aggressiveness that Leicester City showed against Lille on Saturday was applauded by manager Claude Puel at the final whistle.

- Leicester City did well to recover from their early setback against Lille, says manager Claude Puel
- The Foxes ran out 2-1 winners at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in their final game of pre-season
- Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice to take his pre-season tally to four goals

Despite falling behind early on at Stade Pierre-Mauroy following Lebo Mothiba’s fourth-minute strike, the Foxes replied through Kelechi Iheanacho’s well-placed header.

A flowing move from Leicester after the break resulted in Iheanacho turning home a second following a low cross from the impressive Ben Chilwell.

It was important to continue second half with the same desire, the same quality. I think this victory is normal for us.

“I think it was a tough game, we lacked in the first minute, from our kick-off, and it was difficult to come back into the game in these conditions,” Puel told LCFC TV.

“We conceded a goal very early with other chances for Lille. In these conditions I’m happy about the character of the team.

“First, it was important to come back step by step in the first half with more aggressiveness, more play on the pitch. I was happy with the second part of the first half for example.

“It was important to continue second half with the same desire, the same quality. I think this victory is normal for us. At the beginning, of course, it was the worst start. We have to correct this.”
