Deadline day recruit Çağlar Söyüncü reported for his first day of Leicester City training on Friday, after his UK visa application was approved this week.

City finalised a deal to sign the 22-year-old Turkey international defender from German side SC Freiburg last Thursday, subject to a work permit being granted.

And having arrived in the country on Thursday evening after his application was sanctioned, Söyüncü walked through the doors at Belvoir Drive on Friday morning to meet his new team-mates, manager Claude Puel and the staff at City’s training ground.

Çağlar Söyüncü joined the Foxes on deadline day from SC Freiburg.

Introductions complete, Çağlar underwent routine testing under the supervision of the Club’s medical and sport science teams, while he also had the opportunity to take in the squad’s final preparations for Saturday’s Premier League visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He then had the opportunity to get his hands on his newly issued No.4 shirt for his first official photoshoot as a Leicester City player.

City manager Puel confirmed on Thursday that Söyüncü is not yet ready to be considered for selection, but the new face in the Foxes ranks is expected to be in attendance for Saturday’s King Power Stadium opener against the newly promoted Wolves.
