The Foxes scored twice in the final two minutes of normal time at AFC Bournemouth last time out, but still suffered defeat, owing to a disappointing first half showing on the south coast.

Evans, who could return to the City line-up following Wes Morgan’s red card at Vitality Stadium, says Claude Puel’s men are showing promising signs in attacking positions.

“At half-time we found ourselves in a position where we wanted to make sure we won the second half of that game and restored a bit of pride,” he told LCFC TV.

“Scoring two goals late on… we know we can do that, that’s the big thing about it. It gives you that comfort that we can score goals if teams give us that opportunity to do that.

“If we would have stayed in the game a bit longer, those goals might have counted for something a bit more.”

Evans, 30, also stressed the importance of getting back on track against David Wagner’s Terriers ahead of a run of fixtures during which City will be confident of collecting points.

He added: “It’s always important. Obviously the game at the weekend against Bournemouth didn’t go our way, it very easily could’ve at certain points in the game.

“But obviously we found ourselves 3-0 down at half-time, so there are things we’ll look at this week and make sure of that in that Huddersfield game.

“We’ll be more prepared and make sure that doesn’t happen again.

“I think everybody’s looking forward to the game and looking forward to putting the wrongs of last week [right] and like you say, getting back on track.”
