Claude Puel praised Leicester City’s ‘fantastic mentality’ after they made it six games unbeaten in the Premier League with a 1-1 draw at Fulham on Wednesday night.

- Leicester City showed fight to recover from a goal down during their Premier League clash with Fulham, says manager Claude Puel
- James Maddison cancelled out Aboubakar Kamara’s first-half opener at Craven Cottage
- The fixture will be reviewed on Thursday’s Matchday Minus Two at 3pm GMT

The Foxes, despite creating several goalscoring opportunities, fell behind just before the break after Aboubakar Kamara found the back of the net for the hosts.

However, a change in tactics after the interval saw Puel bring on Demarai Gray, Shinji Okazaki and Vicente Iborra, who all linked up in an attack rounded off by James Maddison.

Puel said at the final whistle: “I think a draw was a fair result. It was a tough game. I think we could have scored in the first half. We had good chances. It was a good opportunity to manage our game better, but I think our second half was poor.

Claude Puel watches on from the dugout at Craven Cottage as his Leicester City side face Fulham.

“We were in difficulties and thankfully the players coming from the bench gave their best to help their team-mates get back into the game. It was a good feeling. It is always a fantastic mentality which was the most important thing.

“In the game we conceded chances, we had chances also. We could have lost this game, but a draw was a fair result.

“We have a fantastic mentality. That’s important to have when we don’t play very well. We have this spirit to come back and to fight. I think that is the most important thing, of course.

“If we can manage our game before it would be better but it’s a fantastic mentality and we need to continue this. To win our games we need more quality and today it was not enough.”

Tottenham have a big squad to find a solution while it is more difficult for us to put in place the team. We’ll see if we can recover some players before Saturday

Puel’s men have not lost since their reverse at Arsenal in mid-October and next face a Tottenham Hotspur side that have won seven of their last eight games in all competitions, beating the likes of Chelsea and Internazionale along the way.

The City manager added: “Firstly, it is important to recover and have a good rest because we have a lot of games.

“Their (Tottenham’s) players have the habit to play international games and Premier League games and I think they can manage.

“They have a big squad to find a solution while it is more difficult for us to put in place the team. We’ll see if we can recover some players before Saturday.”
