Full back Danny Simpson signed from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2014 for an undisclosed fee, having represented the Hoops against City in the 2013/14 season.
Danny started his footballing career at Manchester United, going on to enjoy loan spells at Belgian club Royal Antwerp, Sunderland, Ipswich, Blackburn and Newcastle United before leaving for the Magpies in January 2010.
Over three years and 100 appearances for the North-East club later, the Eccles-born defender joined Harry Redknapp’s QPR on a free transfer for a season in the Championship and played 34 times for the club.
After helping his side to promotion to England’s top flight league alongside the Foxes in 2013/14, the defender joined Leicester on a three-year deal.
He went on to make his debut for the Foxes in the defeat to Crystal Palace in September 2014, before taking his total to 16 appearances in the 2014/15 campaign.
Throughout 2015/16, Simpson established himself as City’s starting right back and played 32 times in all competitions, playing a major role in the Club's title triumph.
He signed a new three-year deal with the Club in September 2016 before going on to make his UEFA Champions League debut in the 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen the following month.
The following campaign, Simpson played 31 times for City as he continued to show his solidity at right back.
