The Mali youth international, who can play as both a central striker or on either wing, signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at King Power Stadium in January 2018.
A talented attacker, Diabaté caught the eye with a series of influential and energetic displays for Gazélec Ajaccio across 20 appearances in all competitions, especially during the 2017/18 season.
The left footer joined the Corsican outfit in the summer of 2017 after a spending two seasons with Guingamp, where he struck 12 times in 49 outings for the French side.
He is a product of the Stade Rennais academy youth system and went on to represent Stade de Reims. He made his professional debut against Olympique Lyon in December 2016.
At international level, he has represented both Mali Under-20s and Under-23s. In 2016, he was part of the Under-23s squad that travelled to the Toulon tournament – eventually won by England.
Diabaté made his debut for the Foxes in their 5-1 triumph over Peterborough United in the Emirates FA Cup, scoring two goals in the process, before another 16 appearances in all competitions in 2017/18.
Following a spell at Turkish Süper Lig outfit Sivasspor in 2018/19, Diabaté headed to Amiens earlier at the start of 2019/20, scoring once in 20 Ligue 1 outings for the French side.
