From that point onwards, Hughes continued to develop with United while also gaining international experience with Wales, representing his country at various youth levels up to making his Under-21s debut in September 2022.
The Welshman’s progress at United caught the interest of several clubs and in 2021, Hughes signed for Leicester City, joining a Club with a track record of promoting young talent from the Academy into the first team set-up.
The 2021/22 campaign saw Hughes make 11 appearances in Premier League 2 Division 1 and the Papa Johns Trophy, playing on both sides of the defensive line and providing one assist.
Likewise in 2022/23, the 20-year-old played 10 times across all competitions prior to a long-term injury ending his season before the turn of the year.
