Initially starting the tie at King Power Stadium in midfield, the first-team debutant switched to defence for the second half and impressed many with his composed performance.

Starting his career at Aston Villa, the versatile defender featured for Villa's Under-18s and Under-21s and has also represented National League North side Gloucester City on loan.

Throughout 2021/22, Brunt produced a number of consistent performances for Leicester's Development Squad in Premier League 2 Division 1, named captain on several occasions and helping to record back-to-back clean sheets against Manchester City and Derby County.

In August 2022, after making his Premier League debut away to Tottenham Hotspur in May, the promising young talent signed a new deal with Leicester City to keep him at the Football Club until at least 2025.

The 2022/23 campaign has been similarly productive for the youngster, overcoming an injury hit pre-season to play regularly for the Under-21s in PL2 and the Papa Johns Trophy, while also featuring for the first team in the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup - starting the third round tie at Gillingham in January 2023, as the Foxes progressed into the next round.
