The defender, who primarily operates from a right-back or wing-back position, made his Premier League 2 debut in February 2021, coming on as a substitute against Derby County and played in 11 Premier League 2 Division 1 fixtures across 2021/22, contributing three assists.
The 19-year-old also featured in the Under-18s’ run to the semi-finals of the U18 Premier League Cup and the last-eight of the FA Youth Cup, as well as appearing in their league campaign on 11 occasions, scoring twice and also claiming two assists.
Moving permanently into the Development Squad for 2022/23, Wormleighton has gone from strength to strength, making the right-back spot his own with a series of impressive displays for the side coached by Ben Petty, missing just three games across all competitions and finding the net twice in PL2.
Manager Brendan Rodgers also named the defender on the bench for a Premier League game against Leeds United in October 2022.
