Gørding-born Iversen joined City in 2018 and he has gained an impressive amount of Football League experience on loan with Preston North End and Stoke in the Championship, Rotherham United in League 1 and Oldham Athletic in League 2.

Internationally, the talented goalkeeper has represented Denmark from Under-16s to Under-21s level and received his first call-up to the senior squad in 2019. After also representing OH Leuven on loan in Belgium's top tier, one of Iversen's most successful loan spells was the second of his two stints with Preston.

In sterling form for the Lilywhites in 2021/22, the former Denmark Under-21s international started every single league game for Preston, keeping 13 clean sheets across all 46 Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

Ryan Lowe's men eventually finished 13th in the second tier, only missing out on a top-half finish on goal difference. Iversen, who was called up to the senior Denmark squad again at the end of 2021/22, picked up the Sir Tom Finney Player of the Year and the Players’ Player of the Year prizes in Lancashire.

In August 2022, on the other hand, the Dane made his competitive debut for City, keeping a clean sheet in normal time of a Carabao Cup tie at Stockport County, before making three stunning saves to help Leicester win the shootout 3-1.

His Premier League debut also arrived in March 2023 - starting a run of games for the Foxes in the top flight. Relegation would ultimately be confirmed at the end of the season, but Iversen impressed many with his performances.

Iversen then helped ensure Stoke’s Championship status with a string of impressive performances between the sticks across the second half of the 2023/24 season. The Potters, who brought in the 26-year-old in January, finished 17th following three straight wins – all without conceding a goal.

With seven shutouts in total across his 18 games at bet365 Stadium, the Dane was a big part of getting Steven Schumacher’s side over the line, as they lost just one of the final eight games.
