While it was an unbeaten Easter weekend for the Foxes, it also didn’t provide the wins which we were striving for in our attempts to stay in the division.

Following up a 2-2 draw with Preston North End with another point away at already-relegated Sheffield Wednesday, the captain rued missed chances as our downfall at Hillsborough.

“I feel like it’s the same from previous games,” Ricardo admitted. “We had a lot of chances but weren’t clinical and that makes all the difference at the end, which makes us feel disappointed.

“He (the goalkeeper) made some great saves but at the same time, we need to do better, because we had some clear chances.

“We need to be scoring goals, because at the end of the day, that’s what matters. It was 1-1 and that’s not good enough for us.”

Five games remain this season, three at home, with two tough away tests against relegation-battling Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers to come before the season is out.

With time still remaining to turn things around, the Portuguese defender urged the supporters to stay behind the team, as we look to be above the red line come 3 May.

He continued: “We have games to play, and minutes to play, and we’ll believe all the time. That’s the minimum we can do. It’s the pride for the Club to make sure we finish well and for sure we want to do that.

“The lads that came on changed the game, and that’s what we need, we need everything to keep working and keep pushing and everyone is important.

“It’s really important to have the fans too. We need everything and everyone to do our job. They pushed us until the end, and I feel bad for them, for travelling, and not getting the three points like they deserved.”
