2024/25 Season Tickets: Responding To Your Feedback

In recent days, the Club has been considering feedback provided by supporters, including from independent supporter groups, in relation to 2024/25 Season Tickets – particularly the steps taken by the Club to encourage the wider adoption of digital Mobile Tickets.

This process has led to some important amendments to the roll-out of Mobile Tickets in the coming season, the details of which can be found below. The Club is grateful for the input of every supporter that has provided feedback, which will continue to be valuable in the ongoing implementation of Mobile Tickets.

Heading into the third season since their introduction, Mobile Tickets will be the default method of entry for Adult Season Ticket Holders in 2024/25. Physical Season Ticket cards will remain an option for those that prefer a non-digital ticket, though these will be subject to a charge of £25 per card (exemptions apply).

Having taken on-board the views expressed by supporters since the announcement, the Club acknowledges that the motivation behind this decision requires further clarification.

The ongoing roll-out of digital ticketing is the latest step in ensuring King Power Stadium keeps up with modern technological standards in access control and crowd management. NFC (Near Field Communication) systems are now commonplace at leading stadiums, concert venues and major events all over the world, owing to the greater efficiency and enhanced security they provide.

The charge for a physical Season Ticket card is designed to incentivise the mass adoption of free Mobile Tickets, which will enable the Club to:

- Admit supporters more efficiently into the stadium on matchdays;
- Ensure tickets remain in the hands of supporters that seek to access them through legitimate Club channels;
- Combat ticket touting and the unauthorised transfer of tickets through other means;
- Identify all supporters in the stadium and tackle anti-social behaviour;
- Take further steps towards offsetting our environmental impact.

ACTING ON FAN FEEDBACK
To further emphasise the honest intention behind the charge – to encourage digital adoption and not to generate revenue – the Club has committed to donate all proceeds from purchased Season Ticket cards to the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation and its work to support Leicestershire communities. The Foundation will be working with a selected number of beneficiaries during the 2024/25 season. Season Ticket Holders that opt to pay for a physical Season Ticket card will be given the opportunity to select the cause to which they would like their £25 fee to be donated upon the completion of the renewal period.

Further feedback from supporters related to the criteria for exemption from the £25 charge, which have subsequently been amended to include all Season Ticket Holders aged 17 or under. Therefore, supporters aged 65 and over, aged 17 and under, or with a registered disability will be able to opt for a physical Season Ticket card free of charge. Any supporters that have already purchased a physical Season Ticket card for 2024/25 that now fall into these categories will be automatically refunded by 5pm on Friday 10 May.

Finally, following feedback relating to the flexibility provided by physical cards, the Club has increased the number of matches Season Ticket Holders can legitimately forward their Season Ticket to a friend or family member from four to five. This, together with the five opportunities Season Ticket Holders have to use the Club’s Resale Platform, provides Season Ticket Holders with flexibility over up to 10 of 19 Premier League home matches during the 2024/25 season. Friends and family members receiving forwarded tickets need only be registered on the Club’s database and have linked their ticketing account to the account of the relevant Season Ticket Holder. Access to purchase tickets via the Resale Platform will remain a benefit for Fox Members.

As we work towards full digital implementation in the future, the Club will continue to consult with supporters to ensure a manageable transition. This will form part of the Club’s Fan Engagement Plan (FEP) for 2024/25 – a key measurement in achieving the Premier League’s Fan Engagement Standard. The FEP will be published before the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

AIDING THE DIGITAL TRANSITION
The Club continues to be committed to easing the transition to mobile ticketing and has prepared extensive resources and guides to assist first-time users. Mobile Tickets have been used by up to 7,000 supporters per matchday for the last two seasons, with over 300,000 successful Mobile Ticket admissions having taken place in that time.

LCFC Help will be hosting a series of drop-in sessions in the build-up to the 2024/25 season, giving supporters the opportunity to visit the stadium, trial the technology and ensure they are comfortable with its use before the first home game of next season. Details of these drop-in sessions will be published on LCFC.com in due course.

The Club will also be increasing the presence of matchday staff on the approach to the stadium site and stadium turnstiles to ensure supporters are prepared and to manage any technical issues that should arise.
