Knockaert On Forest Winner

A sensational display against their east midlands rivals saw Knockaert net a last minute winner in a to set up a play-off semi-final with Watford, starting on Thursday at King Power Stadium.

And for Knockaert, it was certainly an afternoon to remember. He told : “It was a very good atmosphere, the best in my career because I was never in a big game like that.

“It was a big atmosphere for them and for us too, because if they won they would have been in the play-offs, it was the same for us. I’m very happy because I wanted to be in the play-offs.

“We just wanted to give all we could and we scored just at the end of the game.

“I was very happy to score it and I would like to thank Chris Wood because he gave me a great ball. It was a good occasion and now it’s most important to look to the play-offs on Thursday.

“We didn’t start very well because after three minutes they scored. We believed after that and we came back into the game in the first half. After that we scored again so we are a good group and you can see that because we are now in the play-offs.”

Watford now await The Foxes in the semi-final in a repeat of the last home game of the regular season, where The Hornets ran out 2-1 winners at King Power Stadium.

However Knockaert is confident that Nigel Pearson’s side can avoid a repeat of the result, adding: “Watford are a good team, but it won’t be the same game. I think with the group we have we can put in a good performance.

“The most important thing now is the play-offs, and we need to win that first game, then we will know what we have to do.”
