De Laet Delighted To Be Involved

The Belgian has been an integral part of the defence at right-back as City embarked upon a run of just one defeat in 23 league games to seal a long-awaited return to the top-flight. 

And after another steady display against the Royals, he admitted that it is a special feeling to be involved in the team at present. 

He told Foxes Player: “My season has been okay. It was frustrating at the start of the season that I got injured but I got back in and we’ve gone on this amazing run.

“It’s just been great playing with these lads and playing how we have been. 

“It’s the first time in my career that I’ve been playing every week. It’s better than last season, but there’s more to come. 

“We want to win every game and get as many points as possible. QPR is our next game, so we’ll be going for that.” 

The draw with Reading was a positive response from a 4-1 defeat to Brighton last week, although De Laet was frustrated to have conceded from a set-piece. 

He added: “I think we have only conceded a few goals from open play in the last few games, the rest have been from set pieces, and that’s something we have to work on and something the gaffer will address in training. 

“I think it’s a good point, but looking at the game, we could have probably nicked it and taken all three points. 

“Obviously we were brought back down to earth quickly [after getting promoted] with the defeat against Brighton, but it’s great that we have been promoted and we still want to get that Championship title.”
