U18s Report: City 1 Wolves 6

A youthful Leicester City Under-18s side slipped to a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Barclays U18 Premier League on Saturday morning.

The fixture at the Club’s Belvoir Drive Training Facility saw a first taste of Category 1 football for many of City’s promising youngsters, who had formed part of last season’s talented Under-16 group. However a more experienced Wolves side did enough to take all three points on the day.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 early on courtesy of some clinical finishing from inside the box, but City’s Luke Downes handed The Foxes a lifeline ten minutes from half time when he coolly converted from the spot.

Unfortunately the visitors added another three goals after the break to put the result beyond City’s reach as they now turn their attentions to next weekend’s trip to Reading.
