Miquel Eager To Bounce Back

Saturday’s trip to Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship is the perfect opportunity for the Foxes to bounce back according to on-loan Arsenal man Ignasi Miquel.

The Spanish Under-21s international was part of the team that lost 3-1 to Premier League title chasing Manchester City in front of a full house at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night, and is eager to put that right at the weekend.

Lloyd Dyer pulled a goal back in the closing stages for the Foxes, who had gone 3-0 down, but it wasn’t enough to spark an unlikely comeback against a Manuel Pellegrini side that showed all the qualities that had seen them beat Arsenal 6-3 last week.

But for Miquel, the trip to Loftus Road to face the league leaders is now the next target, as City look to take yet more points from their promotion rivals following a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley last time out in the league.

“It’s massive,” stated Miquel. “If we win we’ll bounce back and be up there again. It’s been a bad run for us so we want to get back to it on Saturday and win the game.

“We’ve seen that at the back, any of us can get the call to play in the team, so any time I get the chance to play I give everything that I’ve got and try to do my best, so we’ll see what happens on Saturday.”

The Foxes performed well against their illustrious opponents, but despite their underdogs tag, Miquel was still left frustrated at the way they conceded the goals.

He added: “Everyone knew about Manchester City. They’ve been great the last few seasons and I think their three goals weren’t good for us – we just let them score. It’s a disappointing result but we’ve got to go again on Saturday.

“We could have done much better for all three goals, but this is how it is – we were playing against a Premier League club and they punished us.

“They’ve been on a great run, they beat Bayern Munich, Arsenal and now us. It was a tough game but we should have done better.

“It’s these kind of games where you play against top players that makes you try to improve. If we get promoted this season, then this is what we’ll have to expect next season.

“It was amazing to come out a see the stadium packed - it was brilliant but disappointing that we didn’t get the result.”
