Birch Delighted With Donations

The Blue Army once again gave generously to Club Ambassador Alan ‘The Birch’ Birchenall’s 33rd successive annual end of season run as almost £25,000 was raised for the LCFC Foxes Foundation.

A number of charities are set to benefit as a result of the fundraising, which took place at the Club’s final home league clash of the season against Watford at King Power Stadium on 26 April.

as well as members of the Leicester City squad as part of their pre-match warm-up.

Since his first run at Filbert Street in 1981, The Birch’s remarkable efforts have seen him raise over £1million for dozens of charities, and at 67, he appears to have lost none of his enthusiasm for the challenge.

In a message to his fellow participants and supporters this year, the platinum fundraiser said: “A big thank you to the runners for your help in managing to raise a massive amount of money for the Foxes Foundation charities this season via the annual charity run (or, in my case, walk!) at the final home game of the season.

“I am thrilled to announce that the amount raised via the run currently stands at £24,616.

“Each year for the last 33 years we have asked supporters to help raise money for local charities and they never let us down.

“Many, many thanks again for your donation and support. None of this could be achieved without you.”
