City Quartet In International Action

Leicester City quartet Shinji Okazaki, Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa and Bartosz Kapustka were all involved in international action for their respective countries on Thursday 23 March.

- Shinji Okazaki came on after 82 minutes as Japan saw off the United Arab Emirates on Thursday

- The Japanese striker is his country's third all-time top goalscorer with 49 strikes to his name

- Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa featured alongside one another as Nigeria drew 1-1 with Senegal 

- Midfielder Bartosz Kapustka represented the Poland Under-21s in a 2-1 home defeat to Italy

 

Leicester City quartet , ,  and were all involved in international action for their respective countries on Thursday 23 March. 

Following during a 1-0 friendly defeat to Germany in Dortmund on Wednesday, a match settled by a long-range effort by Lukas Podolski, another four of the 10 Foxes called up for international duty took to the field the following evening. 

Okazaki has scored 49 goals since making his debut for Japan back in 2008 while still playing for J1 League side Shimizu S-Pulse and he earned his 107th cap against the United Arab Emirates. Vahid Halilhodžić's men ran out 2-0 victors at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City on Thursday night. 

The City striker’s tally for his country places him third on Japan’s all-time goalscoring charts but he was unable to add another against the UAE in their FIFA World Cup Group B qualifying fixture. Japan currently sit second in their pool, level on 12 points with leaders Saudi Arabia after six matches. 

Senegal at Barnet’s The Hive stadium in London. The Super Eagles, who equalised late on through will remain in England for another friendly against Burkina Faso in a re-run of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final on Monday.
