Crowds of Leicester City fans queued patiently inside the City Fanstore at King Power Stadium on Thursday for the chance to meet five superstars from Claudio Ranieri’s squad.

Ahmed Musa, Islam Slimani, Daniel Amartey, Ron-Robert Zieler and Bartosz Kapustka all turned up to get up close and personal with the Club’s loyal supporters.

Zieler told LCFC TV: “I’ve enjoyed it very much. I think it’s good for your fans and it’s nice to see them happy during the school holidays. They’ll all go home with a smile.

“When I was younger, it was always great for me to see all the first team players. I looked up to them and it was fantastic to meet them.

“The atmosphere has been fantastic here and the fans cheered us a lot. Especially during the game against Copenhagen, it was another win and the atmosphere was great.”

It was an occasion to remember for supporters and players alike as the lads listened to stories and took the chance to thank them for their loyalty just days after their support helped secure yet another UEFA Champions League victory.

Club Ambassador Alan ‘The Birch’ Birchenall said: “It never ceases to amaze me how many fans turn out. It just shows the massive impact that our football club has had.

“They all want their photographs taken with the players and they’re all bringing stuff in to get it signed.

“If you’re young and get to see one of your favourite players up close, it’s everything to them.

“We’ve got five of the newer members of the squad down and you only have to see the turnout today to see what the Club means to its supporters.”

Fans of all ages turned up to meet the players, but with the event carefully timed to coincide with the October half-term break, it was a perfect opportunity for the Club’s army of young supporters to meet their heroes.

Many supporters took the opportunity to get merchandise signed as well as taking pictures with the boys as a special memento of the day – both things sure to be treasured for years to come.
