Junior Fox Elliot Thrilled Ahead Of Wembley Mascot Experience

- The competition was offered exclusively to 2015/16 Junior Fox Members 

- Elliot is looking forward to meeting his Premier League-winning heroes on Sunday 7 August 

After winning a competition to be an official Leicester City mascot for the FA Community Shield, Junior Fox Member Elliot Smith cannot wait to walk out alongside his heroes at Wembley Stadium. 

An aspiring young goalkeeper himself, Elliot, 8, couldn’t believe the news that he would be representing the Foxes as a mascot at Wembley Stadium alongside the Premier League champions, who take on Manchester United on Sunday 7 August. 

Elliot will not only get to walk out onto the Wembley pitch as an official Leicester City mascot, but will also meet Claudio Ranieri’s team, while also receiving a full 2016/17 home kit and four tickets to the match. 

Elliot’s father Wayne Smith, a lifelong Leicester City fan himself, said: “We found out last week and initially Elliot thought it was King Power Stadium! 

“We explained that it was at Wembley, the biggest stadium in the country, and I don’t think it fully sunk in what he was going to do. 

“I showed him some clips of the last Community Shield and showed him the mascots walking out. He looked shell-shocked and I think he was a little bit nervous at first, but he said he was really looking forward to it. 

“He plays as a goalkeeper for a local football team, Whetstone Juniors, so he’s really looking forward to meeting David De Gea and Kasper Schmeichel – Kasper especially, because he’s Elliot’s favourite player! 

“We’re both City fans and Elliot has been kicking a ball around since he was very young, so this will be an experience that will stick with him forever.”
