Loan Round-Up: Barnes And James Shine Again

- The City pair played the full 90 minutes to help their adopted clubs secure positive results against Shrewsbury and Huddersfield

- Barnes played a key role in the Dons' second in a 2-1 victory at stadium:mk while James was pivotal in a 1-1 draw at Oakwell

- Tom Lawrence and Callum Elder, at Ipswich and Barnsley, did not feature but have made big impacts while on loan this season

Barnes, quickly becoming a fans’ favourite at stadium:mk, delivered another stellar performance for the Dons as Robbie Neilson’s men defeated Shrewsbury Town 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. 

The 19-year-old City Academy product, who made his senior debut for the Club in December, played a key role in the hosts’ second with Paul Downing getting the final touch after Kieran Agard's opener for the Buckinghamshire outfit. 

With two strikes to his name already in League 1, Barnes has been one of the reasons behind their upturn in form in recent weeks with four wins in their last eight since he agreed to join on loan until the end of the season. 

Foxes midfielder James, meanwhile, played the full 90 minutes as Barnsley rescued a 1-1 draw with high-flying Huddersfield Town in the Championship, courtesy of a Marley Watkins equaliser in the 75th minute.

The Tykes were up against it for much of the clash with David Wagner’s promotion-hunters, hoping to close the gap at the top, but James and his Barnsley team-mates dug deep to deny them an seventh successive victory.
