U18s Report: Leicester City 0 Swansea City 3
- Liam Cullen bagged a brace for the Swans, while Causso Darame was also on target
- The Foxes next host Tottenham Hotspur in the U18 Premier League on Saturday 15 October (11.30am KO)
A clinical second-half performance from Swansea City saw them record a 3-0 U18 Premier League victory over Leicester City’s Under-18s at Belvoir Drive on Saturday.
The young Foxes, despite creating a number of goalscoring opportunities, fell behind just before the break after Swansea’s Liam Cullen found the back of the net.
Portuguese attacker Causso Darame doubled the visiting side’s lead just three minutes into the second half, while Cullen grabbed his second of the game shortly after to round off the scoring in Leicester.
Under-18s manager Trevor Peake told LCFC.com after the defeat: “The game followed a similar trend to a couple that we’ve already played this season. We started off quite brightly and dominated possession, but Swansea managed to get an early goal.
“Even though we worked their goalkeeper more than we have done in weeks gone by, we still didn’t find the target and we conceded 10 minutes before half-time.
“They scored again around the 60-minute mark and after that the game became a lot more equal. We lost a bit of steam in the last 30 minutes.”
The young Foxes next face Tottenham Hotspur at Belvoir Drive on Saturday 15 October (11.30am kick-off).
