U19s Match Preview: Leicester City vs. FC Porto

Read a match preview on the UEFA Youth League fixture between Leicester City’s Under-19s and FC Porto at Loughborough University on Tuesday 27 September, 2016 (2pm kick-off).

Leicester City’s Under-19s will make their home UEFA Youth League debut when they host FC Porto at Loughborough University on Tuesday afternoon.

The young Foxes will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Club Brugge at the Schiervelde Stadium two weeks ago – Admiral Muskwe on target for City.

They take on an FC Porto side that dispatched FC Copenhagen 4-1 in their Youth League opener earlier this month.

The fixture will be shown live on BT Sport ahead of the first team’s clash with FC Porto in the evening.

Trevor Peake said ahead of the game: “A big factor with the game in Bruges was the two early goals. If we hadn’t conceded them we wouldn’t have been chasing the game.

“Porto’s record at youth level is world renowned, especially with their productivity and that’s to be really admired.

“We’re hopeful and confident ahead of the game. Porto will be a really good test for us and it’s a pity that we couldn’t get at least a point out of that Brugge.

“In an ideal world, we’d like to win all of our home games, and that starts off with Porto on Tuesday.”
