Leicester City skipper Wes Morgan has warned that the Foxes have a tough opening fixture on their hands after their was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The Foxes will begin the defence of the Premier League title they won last season with a trip to newly promoted Hull City on Saturday 13 May, and Morgan is well aware of how dangerous a team they are.

The skipper was an unused substitute as City suffered a penalty shootout defeat at the KCOM Stadium in the League Cup last season and admits it was no surprise to see them secure promotion form the Championship given the quality they showed that day.

City’s last visit to Hull in the Premier League was an important one too, as Riyad Mahrez’s solitary strike .

This time around Morgan and his team-mates will head their as reigning champions and with the fixtures now announced, he admits that the excitement is building.

“It’s always an exciting day when the fixtures come out,” Morgan told . “Like I’m sure a lot of the lads were, I was keeping an eye out for our games this morning.

“We’ve got Hull away first, which is going to be a really tough game. I know from experience how tough it is to win up there and we’ve had some real battles over recent years. I remember we went there in the League Cup last season, and although I didn’t play, you could see they were a good side, so it was no surprise to see them get promoted.”

Following the Hull City fixture the Foxes will face both Arsenal and Swansea City at home, and the skipper believes that once again the Leicester City supporters will have a key role to play, both at King Power Stadium and on the road.

He added: “I think as a player you always look out for the first home game, which is obviously against Arsenal and will be another tough one, but it’ll be great to get back out there at King Power Stadium in front of our home fans again.

“Saying that, the fans are great away from home too, and we’ll need them. We go to Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea quite early in the season.

“Last season was unbelievable and it’s going to be another huge challenge to defend our title. It’s one the lads are relishing and we’ll give it absolutely everything, starting with Hull."
