LCFC Analyst To Run London Marathon

Leicester City First Team Performance Analyst Peter Clark is undertaking a huge challenge next month as he takes on the London Marathon, all in the name of charity.
Peter has been at the Club for over three years and will run the marathon in the hope of raising £7,500 for the LCFC Foxes Foundation through Leicestershire-based charity Rainbows Children’s Hospice.

Rainbows – one of the LCFC Foxes Foundation’s 2014/15 Partner Charities - have provided an environment in which life–limited children and their families can find care and support since 2011.

They are the only hospice for children and young people in the East Midlands and boast an incredible team of staff that help to relieve symptoms, improve quality of life and support parents and siblings through their bereavements.

Honoured to be supporting such a fantastic cause, Peter told LCFC.com: “Running a marathon is something I have always wanted to do, so to be given the opportunity to run the London Marathon for a fantastic cause is a privilege.

“I have set myself an ambitious fundraising target of £7,500, although to exceed this would be amazing. Every donation towards and beyond this target, however big or small, will make a massive difference.”

It will be Peter’s first ever marathon and he’s chosen a tough one. The 35th London Marathon stretches across 26.2 miles of the country’s capital city and requires Peter to undertake an extensive training schedule to prepare him for the rigorous task.

Peter said: “Training is progressing well, and despite a minor injury set back in recent weeks, I will back running within the next few days.

“I am fortunate that colleagues at the training ground have offered (or more been pestered for) their support and advice throughout my training.”

Kate Golding, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Rainbows, added: “We would like to thank Peter for taking part in this event.

“He is doing a wonderful thing raising funds to help us run the hospice - fundraising efforts make such a huge difference to both the children and young people at Rainbows, and their families. We wish him the best of luck for the event.”

The London Marathon takes place on Sunday 26 April giving you plenty of time to send in your donations, no matter how big or small they are!
