LCFC Share In Mumbai BPL Live Success

“BPL Live Mumbai was a very successful event, which drew significant crowds and also gained high levels of media coverage. It was a fantastic platform for LCFC to be part of a major Premier League international initiative and the Club achieved significant media and commercial interest in India as a result.
“We undertook a great deal of community work in Mumbai, including coaching sessions for schools and under-privileged children. It was great that Emile Heskey was able to be part of our team in Mumbai. He was a big attraction and he played a full part in all of our community activities there.
“Obviously, there are strong connections and links between the city of Leicester and India and this was reflected by the fact that we were the only club at BPL Live to receive an invitation to a reception with the Deputy British High Commissioner, Kumar Iyer, at the British Residence. We were also the only club to receive a royal visit when HH the Maharaja of Bhavnagar visited the LCFC Club Zone and also hosted a dinner for us, which was a great honour.
“We have begun some really positive discussions in India and we hope to further develop the relationships formed at BPL Live. I’m delighted that HH the Maharaja plans to come to meet with us again and watch a game at King Power Stadium next month. We also hope to welcome a group from the PIFA academy, which helped us greatly to organise the coaching sessions in India, later this season.
“Football is really booming in India at the moment, with the advent of the Indian Super League (ISL) and there are some exciting potential opportunities for us as a Club in that region.
"Our participation at BPL Live has also opened up some interesting conversations with organisations such as Birmingham Airport and Turkish Airlines. India is a key market for both and they supported us on the trip. I think that the BPL event also allowed us to demonstrate the real value we can bring to businesses like Birmingham Airport, so it has been a very positive experience in every respect.”
