Leicestershire Fostering And Adoption Visit King Power Stadium

Leicestershire County Council’s Fostering and Adoption team came to King Power Stadium on Saturday, successfully raising awareness of fostering in the local area.

With the aim of recruiting an extra 100 foster carers, children and adults participated in games and activities outside turnstiles 7-12 before the clash with Aston Villa, while volunteers were on hand to give out leaflets and information.
An Information Bus near the City Fanstore also offered advice on fostering and information to potential carers, focusing on supporting mums and babies, siblings, teenagers and permanent fostering arrangement.
A group of children that have either been fostered or adopted were also treated to a penalty shoot-out with Filbert Fox at half-time while Club Ambassador Alan ‘The Birch’ Birchenall hosted a Q&A session with Denise from Leicestershire Fostering and Adoption.
Ivan Ould, the County Council's cabinet member for children and families, said: "We want Leicester City to be a winning team and it’s a great environment for our team to visit on matchday and spread the message about fostering.”
Stuart Johncock, Leicester City’s Community Engagement Manager, echoed Ivan’s thoughts and added: “Leicester City Football Club are delighted to be involved in raising the profile of such a life-changing programme. We hope that our involvement can help encourage future parents or carers."
Leicestershire Foster and Adoption’s aim to raise awareness doesn’t stop there as they host an introduction to fostering evening at County Hall, Leicester Road, Glenfield, LE3 8SA between 6.30pm and 8pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday 14 January).
If you are planning to attend, please call 0116 305 0505 or email and, for a broader look at fostering, visit .
