Ndukwu Set For England U17s Duty

Leicester City Under-18s forward Layton Ndukwu has been called up to the England Under-17s squad for this summer’s UEFA European U17 Championship Finals in Bulgaria.

Ndukwu has been in red hot form for the young Lions, netting a hat-trick for John Peacock’s outfit back in October, before scoring against Norway in an Elite Round Qualifier in March.
England will face a stern opening group fixture when they play Italy on Thursday 7 May in Bourgas (7pm kick-off). Clashes with Holland on Sunday 10 May (8pm kick-off) and Ireland on Wednesday 13 May (7pm kick-off) then follow, both held in Stara Zagora.
Ndukwu, who has featured for both City’s Under-18s and the Development Squad this campaign, will hope to help his nation qualify for the next stage of the competition - the quarter-finals - which are due to take place Saturday 16 May.
As always, be sure to check back into LCFC.com in the coming weeks to keep up-to-date with all of the Club’s international contingent.
