Pearson Seeks Maximum Points

It has been a stunning run of results for City, and while six wins in eight games have ultimately cemented their spot in the 2015/16 Premier League, the Leicester boss and his players are keen to finish this season on a positive note. 

Pearson said: "It’s important to recognise that we’ve been able to prepare for a game with the knowledge that our Premier League status is ensured. What we need now is to finish with as many points as possible. 

"We have that opportunity, but we’re going to have to play well and win. First and foremost, I want us to win the game. The players are all of the same opinion – that it would be fitting to finish the season with a win. To do that we’ll have to do it against a side that will already be planning for next season.” 

Standing in the way of City surpassing the 40-point mark is a QPR side who, despite having their relegation confirmed two weeks ago will also want to claim three points to end their campaign on a high. 

Pearson added: “The next step for them is to make sure they finish their season on a positive note. That allows them to reconvene with something to concentrate on. We’ve got to be wary of that. 

“We do have a respect for them in terms of the players that they have and the type of side that they can be. In the corresponding fixture at their place, they beat us in an open game. We have to earn the right to go out there and win the game. 

"Hopefully everyone in the stadium will enjoy the occasion. The most important factor about Sunday’s game is that we try to win it.”
