Respect Fixture Success

Last weekend’s Sixth Annual Respect Fixture once again proved to be a roaring success after Leicester City and Stoke City joined forces to promote the message of respect alongside their local FAs.
The Leicestershire & Rutland and Staffordshire FAs both worked extremely hard with the clubs and their members building up to the day, which aims to promote a safe and fair environment for football.

Work on the fixture goes as far back as September, when the Foxes visited Stoke City in the league to promote the fixture, which incorporated youngsters from both sets of supporters for a host of exciting activities.

A combination of youngsters from Leicester City’s Grass Roots clubs and Stoke City supporters took part in both Guard of Honour and Player Escort experiences on the pitch at King Power Stadium, as well as a spectacular parade around the stadium at half-time.

Dozens of young girls and boys also played their part as flag bearers on the day, with a large ‘Respect’ banner also displayed shortly after the players warmed up in t-shirts supporting the campaign.

Aside from those clubs from the Grass Roots Scheme, youngsters of all ages were able to make the most of the day thanks to a special inflatable pitch that was in place outside the stadium courtesy of the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA before the match.

The Club would like to thank all those involved in the success of the day, including the following Grass Roots teams:

Harborough Town

Kirby Kings

Groby Juniors

Hamilton Youth

Ibstock United

Birstall United

Green Towers

Oadby & Wigston

Inclusive Asfordby Amateurs
