Jeffrey Schlupp hailed a ‘massive’ victory for Leicester City after they secured an impressive 2-1 Barclays Premier League triumph over Norwich City at Carrow Road at the weekend.

Manager Claudio Ranieri had said he was keen to see how his side responded to their first defeat of the season against Arsenal last time out, but goals from Jamie Vardy and another from Schlupp were enough to claim the three points, despite a late goal for the hosts.

It was yet another spirited and battling performance from the Foxes that was so pleasing. Having scored so brilliantly as the result of two excellent counter attacks, they remained calm in the face of a late bombardment from the Canaries to emerge victorious.

<div ><br /><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">“It’s massive,” Schlupp told Foxes Player HD after the match. “The main thing when you come off a loss is to better yourselves and we did that. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">“We knew how tough it was going to be. Norwich have had some good results and they are a hard team to beat.</div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">“It’s always important to bounce back with a win. The Arsenal game was a tough one but they’re a good team and we knew their qualities. We could have done better but at the end of the day it’s in the past and it was important to bounce back. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">“It was a tough one against Norwich and we knew that it would be, but the main thing is to come away with the three points. The fans were buzzing too and they really got us going.” </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Vardy’s opener came from the penalty spot in the first half to take his tally to seven for the season, while Schlupp’s excellent left footed goal arrived just minutes after half time to put the Foxes well in control. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">He added: “We came out firing and we said in the changing room that the second goal was massive. We came out and got that early on which has helped us settle into the game. We had to dig deep at the end but I thought we deserved the three points. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">“We can play football but we can also dig deep. From our recent performances and results, we’re definitely not shy of digging deep. You can tell that we don’t lack the team spirit and the fighting spirit so we dug deep, the fans stayed behind us like they always do and we paid them back with the three points.”</span></span></div><div><a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com" target="_blank"><img xlink:href="tcm:0-2692753" title="PlayerHD2015_Banner" alt="PlayerHD2015_Banner" style="width: 480px; height: 100px;" /></a><br /></div></div>
