After his first Barclays Premier League appearance of the season, Leicester City defender Danny Simpson explained just how much he’s enjoying his time at the Club.

The right back completed just over an hour in the Foxes’ 2-1 victory over Norwich City on Saturday, having also played 120 minutes in the Capital One Cup Third Round win against West Ham United in September.

Simpson, who also notched up 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Birmingham City on Wednesday, believes there is a great vibe at the Club and says he is focusing in training in order to get some more competitive game time under his belt.

He said: “It is all about playing football for me. All the lads, the whole squad, have been top class and there is a really great feeling about the place and the fans.

"This is a great time to be at Leicester and it is nice to still be part of it. I haven't played for a while and I am trying to get up to full fitness, but it was nice to be back involved – and to be part of a good away win [against Norwich].

"I seized up a little towards the end and had to come off but I have a couple of weeks now to recover and get back training ready for the next game."

Simpson believes City showed great character to return to winning ways against Norwich last time out after his side suffered their first defeat of the season against Arsenal a week earlier.

"We had to bounce back after the Arsenal defeat,” Simpson added. “Everyone knows Arsenal were at their best but Norwich was a tough place to go and to get the three points is great. It wasn't pretty but we dug deep and battled away.

"The clean sheet is coming. There were signs against Norwich where not just the back five but the whole team were very organised.

"We got in good positions and shape, so there are positives signs moving forward."
