When the Premier League champions roll into town, a strong media presence is guaranteed and that’s exactly what was waiting for the Leicester City squad on the first day of their post-season visit to Bangkok.

Having touched down in the Thai capital early on Wednesday, the players had the morning to recover from the flight before the nation’s media descended on the Aksra King Power Theatre in downtown Bangkok.

There the players were introduced on-stage alongside manager Claudio Ranieri and the Club’s owners Vichai and Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha, before lifting the Premier League trophy for the hundreds in attendance.

Khun Vichai, Khun Top and Claudio were then joined by captain Wes Morgan and vice captain Kasper Schmeichel for a press conference to discuss the team’s celebratory trip to Thailand and the Club’s unforgettable maiden title triumph. Khun Vichai talked about the journey City have been on and his pride at the Club being like a family.

He said the fight the players showed in every game meant they could not lose because, even when they did, they went down fighting. And he thanked the Club’s backroom staff for ensuring the players were in peak physical condition for every challenge they faced.

Khun Top spoke of his family’s pride at being able to bring the Premier League champions to Thailand.

He said: “Our players have always known that there are Thai fans behind them, but they don’t know how much the Thai people really love the team.

“We want the players to see Thailand and for the people of Thailand to know that we’re grateful for their support.”

After Claudio, Wes and Kasper had been given an opportunity to give their take on the season, the group was joined by Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki for further interviews with worldwide media.

The squad then had a chance to meet some lucky Thai Leicester City fans for an exclusive meet and greet session with photos and autographs into the early evening.

A second day of engagements awaits the squad on Thursday and fans can follow City’s visit on lcfc.com, Foxes Player HD and the Club’s social media channels.
