U18s Head To Swansea On Opening Weekend
- Leicester City face Swansea, Fulham, Brighton, West Ham and Chelsea in opening five
- The Foxes play Aston Villa at home in the final game of the first round
- All home games to be played at Belvoir Drive Training Facility
The youngsters then face back-to-back home games against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion at Belvoir Drive as they look to build on a highly successful season last term.
Trevor Peake’s squad made a huge impact in the FA Youth Cup last season, becoming only the second LCFC side to reach the semi-final stage, where they were beaten over two legs by Manchester City.
On an individual level many of the team earned international recognition as well as breaking through to Steve Beaglehole’s Development Squad, and the new season will see them hoping to kick on once again.
The Foxes will compete in the south division of the U18 Premier League along with 11 other sides. The top four teams from each of the north and south leagues go into the top group of the second round with the winner of that competition crowned Barclays U18s Premier League champions.
It was a competition won by Middlesbrough last term while City, who led the league at stages during the season, earned a seventh placed finish in the first round to place them in Group 2, where they earned impressive wins over West Ham, Reading and Brighton.
