After guiding his side to a 5-1 victory against Southampton, Leicester City Under-18s manager Trevor Peake heaped praise on the young Foxes’ ruthless finishing.

A second consecutive hat-trick from Admiral Muskwe followed Josh Eppiah’s early double in a game that City created plenty of goalscoring chances throughout.

The young Foxes have scored 12 goals in their last four games and now sit second in the Barclays U18 Premier League after a superb start to the season.

It’s not just the goals scored that have pleased Peake, but also the amount of opportunities his side have carved out during those games.

We managed to get six against Brighton earlier in the season, but that was a different situation as they had a man sent off early in the game,” Peake told LCFC.com.

“We do look a team going forward that is particularly difficult to handle. Our strike rate over the past three or four games has been very high.

“In the past two games, we’ve scored one goal every three chances that we created. Against Southampton, we created even more opportunities and obviously some of that is down to our clinical finishing.”

Peake also expressed his delight at the form of Muskwe, who took his total tally for 2015/16 to 11 goals in just eight U18 Premier League appearances, while the Under-18s boss also had some kind words for Eppiah.

Peake added: “It’s always nice to have a player in your team that is consistently scoring and Admiral is doing just that. Two hat-tricks back to back is an exceptional statistic.

“He took two penalties for his hat-trick against Reading last week, but he didn’t have to rely on that today.

“It’s great to see Josh because he’s been in and out of the side. He’s had a bit of an injury and we’ve played different systems.

“He showed against Southampton what we saw him for the Under-16s last season. He’s a real hard worker and he’s got a great left foot.”
